Take Down The Union Jack
The British National Party want the admirable Billy Bragg prosecuted for inciting violence against them.
In an article in the Guardian, Billy argued for an elected House of Lords even if it meant the BNP getting a seat.
"It would shine a torch into the dirty little corner where the BNP defecate on our democracy and that would be much more powerful than duffing them up - which I am also in favour of."
A formal complaint has been made and police say they will interview him when he gets back from touring Germany.
Oh, for heaven's sake.
Plenty of BNP members have convictions of their own for violence and incitement. They are behaving like those ludicrous football supporters who spend the whole game hurling vile abuse at the opposition and then go rushing to Plod like violated Victorian maidens when a player has the temerity to swear back at them.
Putting lipstick on a pig doesn't turn it into Charlize Theron.
Putting a suit on a bunch of racist thugs doesn't turn it into a respectable political party.
